Michigan is the 11th largest state by size. The state bird is the robin. Michigan has more than 11,000 inland lakes and more than 36,000 miles of streams. The state rock is the petosky stone. Michigan is shaped like a mitten. Michigan has two peninsulas. The two peninsulas are nicknamed the U.P. and the L.P. The U.P. stands for the upper peninsula. The L.P. stands for the lower peninsula. The picture above is the Mackinaw Bridge at night. It connects the two peninsulas together!!! The state fish is the Brook Trout.
